Career.zycto is actively seeking an experienced and dedicated Employment Attorney to join our growing legal team in Colorado Springs. This full-time position offers an exceptional opportunity to play a pivotal role in advising on a broad spectrum of employment law matters, ensuring compliance, mitigating risks, and fostering positive workplace environments. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal advice and counsel on a wide range of employment law matters, including hiring, termination, disciplinary actions, wage and hour compliance, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and leave laws.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related documents, such as employment agreements, offer letters, severance agreements, policies, and employee handbooks.
  • Conduct internal investigations into employee grievances and complaints, providing recommendations for resolution and remedial actions.
  • Represent the company in employment litigation, arbitrations, mediations, and administrative proceedings before agencies like the EEOC, DOL, and state fair employment practices commissions.
  • Monitor developments in federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, ensuring company policies and practices remain compliant.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for management and employees on various employment law topics and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and other departments to implement proactive strategies for risk mitigation and compliance.
  • Manage outside counsel relationships for specialized employment law matters when necessary.
  • Advise on employee benefits, compensation, and executive compensation matters, ensuring legal compliance.
  • Support M&A activities related to employment law due diligence and integration.

Required Skills

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Colorado Bar and in good standing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing employment law, either in-house or with a law firm.
  • Demonstrated expertise in federal and Colorado state employment laws and regulations (e.g., Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, CADA, CWLCA).
  • Proven ability to conduct and manage complex internal investigations.
  • Strong litigation and dispute resolution experience, including arbitration and mediation.
  • Exceptional analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High degree of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with multi-state employment law compliance.
  • Prior experience advising on employment law in a corporate in-house setting.
  • Certifications in HR or employment law (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP).
  • Experience developing and delivering legal training programs.
  • Familiarity with whistleblower laws and regulations.
