Career.zycto is excited to be seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Environmental Compliance Assistant to join our dynamic team, based in Turvey Park, Wagga Wagga. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and submission of environmental compliance reports, permits, and license applications.
- Maintain and update environmental management systems (EMS) and compliance registers.
- Conduct site visits and inspections under supervision to monitor compliance with environmental regulations and internal policies.
- Collect, analyse, and manage environmental data, including air quality, water quality, and waste management metrics.
- Support the development and implementation of environmental training programs for clients' staff.
- Research and interpret relevant Australian environmental legislation, regulations, and standards.
- Document findings from audits and inspections, identifying non-compliance issues and recommending corrective actions.
- Liaise with government agencies, industry bodies, and stakeholders as required.
- Assist with waste classification, tracking, and reporting in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to incident investigations and risk assessments related to environmental matters.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Demonstrated organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Basic understanding of Australian environmental legislation (e.g., EP&A Act, POEO Act)
- Valid Australian Driver's License

- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
