Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and passionate Environmental Consultant to join our growing team in Oadby, Leicester. This is an exceptional opportunity for an English-speaking professional with a strong understanding of environmental regulations, sustainability practices, and impact assessment. You will be instrumental in advising clients across various industries, helping them navigate complex environmental challenges, achieve compliance, and implement sustainable solutions that benefit both their operations and the planet. You will work on diverse projects ranging from environmental due diligence and site investigations to renewable energy assessments and waste management strategies. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and strategic environmental assessments (SEAs) for proposed developments and projects.
  • Provide expert advice on environmental legislation, policies, and best practices to ensure client compliance with local, national, and international standards.
  • Undertake site investigations, risk assessments, and environmental due diligence for property transactions and development planning.
  • Develop and implement bespoke environmental management systems (EMS) tailored to client needs.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders.
  • Liaise effectively with clients, regulatory authorities, and other consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contribute to the development of new service offerings and support business development initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of emerging environmental trends, technologies, and legislative changes.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in environmental consulting or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of UK and EU environmental legislation and policy frameworks.
  • Proficiency in conducting Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEAs).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly.
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities, including time management and budget control.
  • Competency in using relevant software for data analysis, reporting, and presentations (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel for site visits and client meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Geology, or a closely related discipline.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., IEMA, CIWEM, Geological Society).
  • Experience with GIS software for environmental mapping and analysis.
  • Familiarity with specific sectors such as renewable energy, infrastructure, or waste management.
