Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of equine clients to identify musculoskeletal imbalances, lameness issues, and performance limitations.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapeutic treatment plans utilizing a range of modalities such as sports massage, myofascial release, stretching, and therapeutic exercises.
  • Educate horse owners and trainers on post-treatment care, preventative measures, and maintenance exercises to support long-term equine health and performance.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough client records, including detailed assessment findings, treatment protocols, progress notes, and future recommendations.
  • Collaborate effectively with veterinarians, farriers, and other equine professionals to ensure integrated and holistic care for clients.
  • Adhere to the highest standards of professional conduct, ethical practice, and animal welfare at all times.
  • Manage scheduling, invoicing, and logistics for client appointments efficiently and professionally.

Required Skills

  • Certified Equine Massage Therapist (CEMT) or equivalent recognized certification from an accredited institution.
  • In-depth knowledge of equine anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics.
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in applying various equine therapeutic modalities.
  • Strong observational, diagnostic, and palpation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both animals and their human caregivers.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule effectively.
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation for client visits.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional certifications in equine chiropractic, acupuncture, laser therapy, or rehabilitation.
  • Experience working with performance horses or specific equestrian disciplines (e.g., dressage, jumping, racing).
  • A bachelor's degree in equine science, animal science, or a related veterinary field.
