Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging, student-centric ESL lessons for various age groups and proficiency levels, utilizing a communicative approach.
- Create and adapt lesson plans, materials, and activities to meet the specific needs and learning objectives of individual students or groups.
- Assess student progress regularly through quizzes, assignments, and constructive feedback, providing guidance for improvement.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that encourages active participation and confidence building.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and curriculum coverage.
- Collaborate with academic coordinators and colleagues to enhance teaching methodologies and curriculum development.
- Stay updated with current ESL teaching trends, methodologies, and best practices.
- Participate in professional development sessions and team meetings as required.
- Be punctual and prepared for all scheduled teaching sessions, whether on-site or online.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in English, Linguistics, Education, or a related field
- TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, or equivalent ESL teaching certification
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience teaching ESL to adult learners or children in a formal setting (online or in-person)
- Excellent command of the English language (native or near-native proficiency)
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Ability to create engaging and dynamic lesson plans
- Proficiency in using online teaching platforms and tools (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet)
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in TESOL or Applied Linguistics
- Experience with specific ESL exam preparation (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge Exams)
- Bilingual proficiency in a second language common in Singapore (e.g., Mandarin, Malay, Tamil)
- Experience teaching business English or academic writing
