Career.zycto is seeking an energetic and dedicated Esports Coordinator to spearhead the development and execution of our esports initiatives in Pambara, Vilankulo. As our Esports Coordinator, you will be instrumental in organizing local tournaments, managing teams, fostering vibrant communities, and collaborating on strategic partnerships. You’ll bring events to life, from concept to flawless execution, ensuring an engaging and professional experience for players and spectators alike. This role requires a blend of creative vision, meticulous planning, and strong interpersonal skills to interact with players, sponsors, and local stakeholders.
Your day-to-day will involve everything from scouting promising local players and teams, coordinating practice schedules and travel logistics, to managing tournament platforms and ensuring smooth event operations. You’ll also play a key role in developing promotional strategies to build awareness and attract participation, leveraging social media and local outreach. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and execute local esports tournaments and events from conception to completion.
- Manage and coordinate competitive gaming teams, including scouting talent, scheduling practices, and overseeing logistics.
- Foster and grow the local esports community through engaging activities, online presence, and outreach programs.
- Collaborate with marketing and social media teams to promote events and initiatives.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with potential sponsors and partners.
- Oversee event budgets, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality experiences.
- Manage event venues, equipment, and technical requirements.
- Act as a primary point of contact for players, teams, and community members.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in event management or project coordination (minimum 2 years).
- Deep passion for and understanding of the esports industry and competitive gaming.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in both Portuguese and English (written and verbal).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to thrive under pressure.
- Familiarity with various gaming platforms and titles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience with live streaming platforms and content creation tools.
- Existing network within the Mozambican or broader African gaming community.
- Proficiency with event management software and project management tools.
- Experience in budget management and negotiation with vendors/sponsors.
