Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive penetration testing on web applications, network infrastructures, APIs, and other systems.
  • Identify, document, and report security vulnerabilities and weaknesses with clarity and precision.
  • Develop proof-of-concept exploits to effectively demonstrate the potential impact of identified vulnerabilities.
  • Provide actionable recommendations and detailed remediation strategies to development and operations teams.
  • Perform detailed security assessments, risk analysis, and vulnerability scanning exercises.
  • Stay relentlessly up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats, attack vectors, and penetration testing techniques.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal security teams and client stakeholders to ensure security best practices are integrated throughout the development and operational lifecycles.
  • Participate in security incident response activities as needed, providing expert analysis and support.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of security testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and compelling presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, etc.) and their security implications.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation and exploit development.
  • Demonstrable experience with various penetration testing tools (e.g., Burp Suite, Nmap, Metasploit, Wireshark).
  • In-depth knowledge of web application security vulnerabilities, including the OWASP Top 10.
  • Familiarity with operating systems like Linux, Windows Server, and macOS from a security perspective.
  • Understanding of common attack techniques, exploitation methods, and defensive measures.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities for effective reporting and collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry certifications such as CEH, OSCP, eJPT, or relevant SANS certifications.
  • Experience with cloud security assessments across platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Knowledge of mobile application security testing methodologies and tools.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as GDPR, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS.
  • Prior experience with secure code review practices and tools.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
