Job Description

ProEvents Mozambique is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Entry-Level Event Production Assistant to join our growing team in Namapa Sede, Erati. This is an incredible opportunity for someone looking to launch their career in the exciting world of event management and production. As an Event Production Assistant, you will play a crucial supporting role in the planning, coordination, and execution of various events across the Nampula Province. You’ll gain hands-on experience in all facets of event production, from initial concept development and vendor coordination to on-site setup and post-event breakdown.

You will work closely with our experienced production managers and technical teams, assisting with logistical arrangements, equipment management, administrative tasks, and ensuring that all event components run smoothly. This role requires flexibility, physical stamina, and the ability to adapt to dynamic situations. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Event Production Managers with various pre-production tasks, including research, vendor communication, and securing necessary permits.
  • Support the logistical planning of events, including transportation arrangements for equipment, materials, and personnel.
  • Help with the setup and breakdown of event venues, including arranging staging, lighting, sound systems, decorations, and signage.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and service providers on-site to ensure timely delivery and execution of services.
  • Provide administrative support, such as maintaining event schedules, managing inventory, filing, and preparing reports.
  • Assist with on-site event operations, including participant registration, guest management, and general support during the event.
  • Troubleshoot minor technical or logistical issues that may arise during events, escalating as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at event sites.
  • Participate in post-event evaluations, contributing ideas for improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the successful delivery of events.

Required Skills

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Portuguese and English (essential for internal and external communication).
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a strong willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A diploma or certificate in Event Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is a plus, but not strictly required for this entry-level role.
  • Previous volunteer experience in organizing or assisting with events.
  • Basic knowledge of audio-visual equipment setup.
  • Valid Mozambican driving license (Category B) and ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
  • Familiarity with the Namapa Sede, Erati, or Nampula Province region.
