The Event Setup Crew at Career.zycto is the backbone of every successful gathering, from corporate conferences to lively community festivals and elegant weddings across Summerside, Prince Edward Island. As a crucial member of our crew, you will be responsible for the timely and efficient setup and teardown of event infrastructure. This includes everything from staging, lighting and sound equipment, tables, chairs, decorations, and various other essential components that bring an event to life. You’ll work closely with event managers, technical teams, and other crew members, ensuring that every element is placed perfectly according to layout plans and safety standards. This position demands a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to adapt to diverse event requirements and often tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload event equipment (tables, chairs, staging, decor, etc.) safely and efficiently.
- Assemble and disassemble various event structures and equipment according to design specifications and safety guidelines.
- Transport equipment to and from event sites using company vehicles (if licensed and authorized).
- Perform pre-event checks to ensure all equipment is in working order and correctly positioned.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of event sites during setup and teardown.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Work collaboratively with event managers, technical staff, and other team members.
- Problem-solve on-site issues quickly and effectively.
- Assist with inventory management and maintenance of event supplies.
- Represent Career.zycto professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as events demand.
- Basic understanding of tools and equipment used in event setup.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in event setup, general labour, or warehouse operations.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating forklifts or other heavy equipment (certification a plus).
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Familiarity with event technology (AV, lighting, sound).
