As an Exam Invigilator, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity and fairness of various examinations administered at our state-of-the-art assessment center. This position is crucial for ensuring a secure, orderly, and conducive testing environment where candidates can perform their best without distraction or unfair advantage. If you are reliable, responsible, and dedicated to promoting academic honesty, we encourage you to apply. This is a part-time opportunity ideal for those seeking flexible hours while making a meaningful contribution to the educational and professional development landscape in Mauritius.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clearly explain examination rules and regulations to candidates, answering any procedural questions without providing assistance related to exam content.
  • Vigilantly monitor candidates throughout the examination period, maintaining a silent and orderly testing environment.
  • Identify and report any instances of suspected malpractice, irregularity, or disruption to the Head Invigilator or designated authority immediately and discreetly.
  • Collect all examination papers and materials accurately at the end of the test, ensuring all items are accounted for.
  • Assist candidates with non-exam related queries or issues, such as restroom breaks or technical difficulties, following established protocols.
  • Ensure the security and confidentiality of all examination materials before, during, and after the test.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, incident reports, and any other required documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with other invigilators and staff to ensure smooth examination operations.

  • Strong verbal communication skills for giving clear instructions
  • High level of integrity, honesty, and impartiality
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • Ability to remain calm and authoritative under pressure
  • Proficiency in following strict guidelines and procedures
  • Basic computer literacy for attendance tracking or digital processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an invigilation, supervisory, or administrative role within an educational setting
  • A tertiary qualification (diploma or degree) in any field
  • Fluency in both English and French
  • Basic First Aid knowledge

Perks & Benefits

  • Competitive hourly rate
  • Flexible part-time working hours, ideal for supplementing income
