Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and proactive Facilities Assistant to join our vibrant team in Filton, Bristol. This full-time role is crucial to maintaining a safe, comfortable, and efficient working environment for all our employees and visitors. As a Facilities Assistant, you will be the linchpin in ensuring our premises operate seamlessly, supporting various departments with essential services and contributing to the overall positive atmosphere of our office. You will manage daily operational tasks, respond to maintenance requests, oversee supplies, and play a vital role in our office’s day-to-day functionality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine checks of the building and premises, identifying and reporting maintenance issues promptly.
  • Respond to and resolve minor repairs and maintenance tasks, such as changing lightbulbs, basic plumbing, and furniture assembly.
  • Manage office supplies, including ordering, stocking, and distributing stationery, kitchen supplies, and other consumables.
  • Assist with office moves, space reconfigurations, and event setups.
  • Liaise with external contractors and service providers for larger maintenance work, ensuring work is completed to standard.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are adhered to across the premises, including conducting regular checks of emergency exits and equipment.
  • Support waste management and recycling initiatives within the office.
  • Provide general administrative support to the facilities team as required.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a facilities support or similar role (minimum 12 months).
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures in an office environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a helpful and proactive attitude.
  • Ability to perform light manual tasks and lift moderately heavy items.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).

Preferred Qualifications

  • A vocational qualification in a trade (e.g., plumbing, electrical) or facilities management.
  • Experience using a facilities management software or ticketing system.
  • Valid UK driving license.
