Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, authorize, and file flight plans, ensuring compliance with all aviation regulations and company policies.
- Perform comprehensive pre-flight briefings with flight crews, covering all aspects of the operational flight plan, weather, NOTAMs, and any potential hazards.
- Monitor active flights, track progress, and provide real-time updates and support to flight crews.
- Analyze meteorological data, significant weather charts, and forecasts to determine their impact on flight safety and efficiency.
- Calculate fuel requirements accurately, considering payload, weather, route, and alternate airport options.
- Coordinate with Air Traffic Control, maintenance, ground operations, and other departments to ensure seamless flight execution.
- Manage and respond to flight irregularities, diversions, and emergency situations in accordance with established procedures, prioritizing safety.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all flight operations, communications, and decisions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for operational procedures and safety protocols.
- Stay current with changes in aviation regulations, meteorological science, and operational best practices.
Required Skills
- Valid Flight Dispatcher license/certification (e.g., FAA Dispatcher Certificate, EASA equivalent).
- Minimum of 4 years (48 months) of direct experience as a Flight Dispatcher in an operational environment.
- In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations (e.g., ICAO, EASA, FAA).
- Proficiency in flight planning software, weather analysis tools, and NOTAM systems.
- Excellent understanding of meteorology, aerodynamics, and aircraft performance.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills under pressure.
