Job Description

Career.zycto is searching for an exceptional Finance Director to lead our Budget & Policy function. This is a critical leadership role responsible for steering the financial health and strategic direction of our organisation through expert budgetary management, insightful financial policy development, and robust financial planning. The successful candidate will be a strategic partner to the executive team, providing clear, concise, and actionable financial insights that inform decision-making across all levels of the business. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing financial strategies that support our growth objectives, ensuring fiscal responsibility and compliance with all relevant regulations. This role demands a proactive leader with a deep understanding of financial modelling, risk management, and performance analysis, capable of translating complex financial data into strategic recommendations. You will manage a dedicated team, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and professional development, while also engaging with external stakeholders as required. Your ability to forecast future financial trends, manage budgetary cycles from inception to review, and establish robust financial controls will be key to your success and our continued prosperity. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage the organisation's annual operating and capital budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Formulate and enforce comprehensive financial policies and procedures that promote fiscal integrity, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Provide expert financial analysis and strategic recommendations to the executive team and board of directors.
  • Lead financial forecasting, planning, and long-range modelling initiatives.
  • Oversee the preparation of all financial reports, statements, and statutory filings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing effective controls and compliance frameworks.
  • Manage and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Collaborate with department heads to monitor budget adherence and identify areas for cost optimization and revenue enhancement.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities and strategic initiatives from a financial perspective.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, national, and international financial regulations and standards.
  • Present financial performance and strategic plans to internal and external stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in a senior financial leadership role, with significant exposure to budgeting and policy.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Expert proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and reporting software.
  • Thorough understanding of financial regulations, accounting principles (e.g., IFRS, GAAP), and risk management.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in a similar industry or a fast-paced, complex organizational environment.
  • Demonstrable experience with treasury management and capital allocation strategies.
  • Track record of successfully implementing new financial systems or processes.
