Career.zycto is seeking a meticulous and proactive Finance Officer to join our team in Cotham, Bristol. This pivotal role will be instrumental in maintaining the financial integrity of our operations, with a primary focus on robust budgeting processes and accurate accounts reconciliation. You will ensure our financial records are precise, up-to-date, and compliant, directly supporting strategic decision-making and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and monitoring of departmental and company-wide budgets, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Perform accurate and timely reconciliation of all general ledger accounts, bank statements, and intercompany transactions, resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and insightful management reports.
- Monitor expenditure against budgets, providing regular variance analysis and explanations.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal policies, and best accounting practices.
- Support the external audit process, preparing documentation and responding to queries.
- Identify and implement process improvements within the finance function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Required Skills
- AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA.
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a finance officer role, with emphasis on budgeting and reconciliations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).
- Experience with accounting software/ERP systems (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks).
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fully qualified ACCA/CIMA.
- Experience working within the professional services or recruitment industry.
- Familiarity with financial forecasting and modelling techniques.
