Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and meticulous Finance Officer specializing in Budgeting & Accounts Reconciliation to join our dynamic finance team in Leeds. As a Finance Officer, you will be instrumental in developing, monitoring, and analyzing budgets across various departments, playing a crucial part in our financial planning and forecasting processes.

You will be responsible for performing comprehensive accounts reconciliation, identifying and resolving discrepancies, and ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical capabilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You’ll work closely with other finance team members and department heads, providing financial guidance and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor departmental and organizational budgets, tracking variances and providing detailed analysis.
  • Perform regular and thorough reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts, bank statements, and intercompany transactions.
  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or variances identified during the reconciliation process in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
  • Collaborate with department heads to gather financial data, explain budget performance, and provide financial insights.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal financial controls, company policies, and external regulatory requirements.
  • Manage cash flow, prepare forecasts, and assist with treasury functions as required.
  • Process invoices, expense reports, and other financial documents with precision.
  • Maintain comprehensive financial records and documentation for audit purposes.
  • Contribute to process improvements within the finance department to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in budgeting and financial forecasting.
  • Strong proficiency in accounts reconciliation and general ledger management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, advanced formulas).
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Xero).
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ACCA, CIMA, or AAT qualification (part-qualified or fully qualified).
  • Experience with financial modelling and data visualization tools.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced or rapidly growing environment.
