Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, for internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate and compile various financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and audit support.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, highlight areas of concern, and provide actionable recommendations to management.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information and ensure data consistency.
- Maintain and improve financial reporting systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Support the preparation of tax filings and other regulatory submissions.
- Contribute to ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives as required.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3+ years of progressive experience in financial reporting or analysis
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
- Experience with financial management software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle Financials)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
