Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyse comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and adherence to regulatory and internal reporting standards.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance sophisticated financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning to support strategic decision-making and operational planning.
  • Actively participate in the annual budgeting process, collaborating with various business units to gather financial data, establish realistic targets, and consolidate group-wide budgets.
  • Conduct in-depth variance analysis, investigating deviations from budget and forecast, and providing insightful commentary and actionable recommendations to senior management.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvements and cost optimisation.
  • Support business unit leaders in understanding their financial performance, managing expenses, and achieving their financial objectives through proactive consultation.
  • Assist in ad-hoc financial analysis, feasibility studies, and special projects as required, including capital expenditure analysis and profitability assessments.
  • Ensure strict compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and regulatory requirements, recommending and implementing enhancements where necessary.
  • Present complex financial information clearly and concisely to non-finance stakeholders, facilitating informed business decisions.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 4 years) in financial reporting, analysis, and budgeting, preferably within the banking or financial services sector.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial functions, VBA/macros) and PowerPoint for presentations.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS), financial statements, and financial modelling best practices.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to work, with a desire for continuous learning and professional development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ACCA, CIMA, or CFA qualification (or actively pursuing).
  • Proficiency with financial planning and analysis (FP&A) software (e.g., SAP, Oracle Hyperion, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Experience with large datasets and data visualisation tools.
  • Knowledge of local and international banking regulations and compliance standards.
  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
