Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with IFRS and local regulations.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation of various accounts, including bank statements, general ledger accounts, and subsidiary ledgers.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry for all financial transactions into the accounting system.
- Support the finance team during internal and external audit processes by preparing documentation, providing explanations, and assisting with audit queries.
- Maintain organized and comprehensive financial records and documentation.
- Assist with the analysis of financial data to identify discrepancies, trends, and potential issues.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information and ensure cross-functional data accuracy.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial reporting processes and internal controls.
- Adhere strictly to company policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Perform other ad-hoc financial tasks and projects as required by management.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial functions).
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP) and financial reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Portuguese and English.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within the banking or financial services sector.
- Familiarity with financial reporting software or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or specific banking platforms).
