Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough and comprehensive fitness assessments, including health screenings and goal setting, for new and existing clients.
- Design and implement highly personalized, safe, and effective exercise programs tailored to individual client goals, current fitness levels, and specific health considerations.
- Deliver expert one-on-one and small group training sessions, providing clear demonstrations and hands-on guidance within the gym setting.
- Demonstrate and instruct proper exercise techniques, form, and progression, consistently ensuring client safety and maximizing training effectiveness.
- Inspire, motivate, and encourage clients to consistently adhere to their fitness programs and enthusiastically pursue their health and wellness objectives.
- Regularly monitor client progress, meticulously track performance metrics, adjust programs as needed, and provide constructive, actionable feedback.
- Educate clients on fundamental nutrition principles, healthy lifestyle choices, and holistic wellness strategies for comprehensive health improvements.
- Maintain a meticulously clean, safe, and organized training environment, adhering to all facility standards and hygiene protocols.
- Stay continuously updated with the latest fitness trends, scientific research, industry best practices, and new training methodologies.
- Contribute actively to the positive, energetic, and professional atmosphere of the Mochudi Sports Complex.
- Be available for flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends, based on client demand and operational needs.
Required Skills
- Certified Personal Trainer (e.g., ACE, NASM, ACSM, ISSA, or equivalent internationally recognized certification).
- Minimum 2 years (24 months) of practical, hands-on experience in gym-based personal training or leading group fitness instruction.
- Profound knowledge of exercise physiology, human anatomy, biomechanics, kinesiology, and fundamental nutrition principles.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and motivational coaching skills, with a client-centric approach.
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and modify safe, effective, and highly engaging exercise programs for diverse populations.
- Proficiency in demonstrating and cueing a wide range of exercises with correct form and technique.
- Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification.
- Proven ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as an integral part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Management, Health Sciences, or a closely related field.
- Additional specialization certifications (e.g., Corrective Exercise Specialist, Youth Fitness Specialist, Pre/Postnatal Fitness Specialist, Kettlebell Instructor).
- Experience with a variety of training methodologies including High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), strength and conditioning, functional training, and mobility work.
- Fluency in both Setswana and English to effectively communicate with our diverse client base.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse age groups and varying fitness levels within a community or public sports facility setting.
