Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fleet Coordinator to join our operations team in Plaine Magnien, Grand Port District. This pivotal role is responsible for the day-to-day management, coordination, and optimization of Omnicane’s diverse vehicle fleet. The successful candidate will ensure the efficient operation, maintenance, and allocation of vehicles to meet operational demands, while adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements. You will play a critical role in maintaining accurate fleet records, scheduling preventative maintenance, managing fuel consumption, and ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily dispatch, scheduling, and routing of vehicles to ensure optimal utilization and timely delivery/collection.
  • Coordinate and schedule regular vehicle maintenance, repairs, and inspections to minimize downtime and ensure roadworthiness.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of fleet operations, including vehicle service history, mileage, fuel consumption, and driver logs.
  • Monitor vehicle performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all local transportation laws, regulations, and company safety policies.
  • Administer fuel cards, monitor fuel usage, and reconcile invoices to prevent fraud and wastage.
  • Manage vehicle registration, insurance, and licensing requirements, ensuring all documentation is current.
  • Oversee driver adherence to company policies, driving regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Prepare regular reports on fleet performance, costs, and compliance for management review.
  • Assist in the procurement and disposal of fleet vehicles, including market research and liaison with vendors.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in fleet coordination or logistics management.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures and scheduling.
  • Proficiency in fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of liaising with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a demanding environment.
  • Valid Mauritian driving license (manual and automatic).

Preferred Qualifications
