Job Description
National Foods Limited is seeking a highly organized and experienced Part-Time Fleet Manager to join our dynamic team in Chegutu, Mashonaland West Province. In this crucial part-time role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient, safe, and cost-effective operation of our local fleet of vehicles. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to manage essential transport logistics without a full-time commitment.
As our Part-Time Fleet Manager, you will oversee all aspects of our Chegutu-based vehicle fleet, which includes a mix of light and heavy-duty vehicles critical for our local distribution and collection operations. Your primary focus will be on optimizing vehicle utilization, implementing robust maintenance schedules, managing fuel consumption, and ensuring strict adherence to all transport regulations and company policies. You will be the go-to person for all fleet-related matters, working closely with drivers, operations staff, and external service providers to maintain peak operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the Chegutu vehicle fleet, including scheduling, dispatch, and routing for optimal efficiency.
- Implement and monitor preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend vehicle lifespan.
- Manage fuel consumption, track mileage, and analyze data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure all vehicles comply with Zimbabwean road safety regulations, licensing, and environmental standards.
- Supervise and train drivers on best practices, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections and maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
- Negotiate with external vendors for vehicle parts, services, and fuel, ensuring competitive pricing and quality.
- Prepare and manage the fleet budget, tracking expenses and reporting on cost performance.
- Respond to vehicle breakdowns and accidents, coordinating necessary repairs and incident reporting.
- Maintain comprehensive fleet documentation, including vehicle registrations, insurance, and driver records.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in fleet management, particularly with mixed fleets (light and heavy-duty).
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repair processes.
- Proficiency in fleet management software and GPS tracking systems.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.
- In-depth understanding of Zimbabwean transport regulations and safety standards.

Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, or a related field.
- Valid Class 1/2 driver's license with a clean driving record.

- Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Familiarity with the Chegutu and Mashonaland West Province road network.
