Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and experienced Food Quality Inspector to join our client’s team in Mandimba, Niassa Province. This critical role involves ensuring that all food products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance from raw materials to finished goods. As a Food Quality Inspector, you will be on the front lines, meticulously examining ingredients, monitoring production processes, and performing final product inspections to prevent defects and ensure consumer confidence. You will work closely with production teams, suppliers, and management to identify areas for improvement, implement corrective actions, and maintain detailed documentation of all quality checks. This position demands a keen eye for detail, a thorough understanding of food safety protocols, and a commitment to upholding the integrity of our food supply chain. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of incoming raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure adherence to quality specifications and regulatory standards.
- Monitor production line operations for compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) principles.
- Perform sensory evaluations, physical tests, and collect samples for laboratory analysis to assess product quality attributes.
- Document and report all inspection findings, non-conformances, and corrective actions taken in a timely and accurate manner.
- Collaborate with production and management teams to investigate root causes of quality issues and implement effective preventative measures.
- Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality control procedures and best practices.
- Maintain comprehensive records of quality checks, test results, and audit reports.
- Stay updated on relevant food safety regulations, industry standards, and quality assurance best practices.
- Assist in the development and revision of quality control procedures and specifications.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Food Quality Inspector or in a similar quality assurance role within the food industry.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMPs) and quality management systems.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to conduct sensory evaluations and interpret laboratory test results.
- Proficiency in data recording and reporting.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions regarding product quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related field.
- Certifications in HACCP, Food Safety Management, or Internal Auditing.
- Familiarity with Mozambican food industry regulations and standards.
