Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize new and existing food product formulations and processes from concept to launch.
  • Conduct sensory evaluations and consumer tests to ensure product quality and market acceptance.
  • Perform laboratory and pilot plant trials, analyzing results and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure all products comply with national and international food safety regulations, quality standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000), and labeling requirements.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Production, Quality Assurance, and Marketing teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Source, evaluate, and select raw materials and ingredients based on functionality, cost, and availability.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot product and process issues, implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of research, development activities, and product specifications.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in food product development or food manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of food chemistry, microbiology, ingredients, and processing techniques.
  • Proficiency in food safety systems and regulations (e.g., HACCP, IFS, BRC).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Fluency in English and working knowledge of German.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with specific food categories such as plant-based alternatives, dairy, or bakery.
  • Familiarity with sensory analysis methodologies and statistical interpretation.
  • Knowledge of clean label ingredients and sustainable food production practices.
