This full-time, on-site role is pivotal to ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods within a fast-paced environment. As a Forklift Driver, you will be responsible for the safe operation of various types of forklifts, including counterbalance and reach trucks, to move, stack, load, and unload materials and products. Your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining optimal stock levels, accurate inventory management, and timely dispatch of orders. Key Responsibilities
- Operate counterbalance and/or reach forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload lorries, ensuring goods are handled with care and accuracy.
- Move goods to and from storage areas, ensuring proper stacking, storage, and space utilization.
- Perform daily pre-shift safety checks on forklifts and report any defects or maintenance requirements immediately.
- Assist with inventory counts, stock rotation, and maintaining accurate warehouse records as required.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised work area to ensure a safe and productive environment.
- Support general warehouse duties and other team members when not operating a forklift.
Required Skills
- Valid and in-date Forklift Operator Licence (RTITB, ITSSAR, or equivalent) for Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck.
- Proven experience (minimum 18 months) operating counterbalance and/or reach trucks in a professional setting.
- Strong understanding and commitment to warehouse safety procedures and practices.
- Excellent spatial awareness, hand-eye coordination, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual handling tasks when required.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for accurate paperwork, record-keeping, and stock checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with other material handling equipment (e.g., VNA, PPT, Combi-Lift).
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and scanning equipment.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced logistics, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
- Valid First Aid certification.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends or evenings if operational needs require.
