Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all provided forklift operation and safety training programs.
- Operate various types of forklifts (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck) in a safe and efficient manner upon successful completion of training.
- Load and unload materials from trailers, trucks, and shipping containers.
- Transport goods to and from designated areas within the warehouse, ensuring proper placement and stacking.
- Assist with inventory management, including counting, verifying, and documenting materials.
- Conduct pre-operation safety checks on forklifts and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and provincial regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Collaborate with warehouse team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to learn new skills quickly and adapt to new procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 lbs when necessary.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for reading instructions and counting inventory.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or industrial setting (non-forklift related is acceptable).
- Familiarity with basic inventory systems or scanning technology.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
