Job Description
Hwange Safari Lodge, a celebrated name synonymous with unparalleled wildlife experiences and luxurious hospitality, is actively seeking a highly motivated and charming Full-Time Hotel Waitress to enrich our esteemed Food & Beverage team. Your daily mission will involve warmly greeting guests, expertly presenting menus, taking food and beverage orders with precision, and ensuring timely and elegant delivery of every dish. We expect you to possess an intimate knowledge of our culinary offerings, including any daily specials, dietary considerations, and beverage selections, to confidently guide guests through their choices. A key aspect of this role is anticipating guest needs, proactively offering assistance, and maintaining a pristine and organized dining environment at all times. You will be entrusted with setting up and breaking down dining areas, ensuring all cutlery, crockery, and glassware are sparkling clean and properly arranged.

Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet guests and seat them promptly in designated dining areas.
- Present menus, explain daily specials, and offer recommendations with confidence and knowledge.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders, noting any special requests or dietary restrictions.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and elegantly, ensuring correct presentation and temperature.
- Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their meal, proactively addressing any concerns or requests.
- Clear tables efficiently, reset dining areas, and maintain a clean and organized workstation.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of dining events, including buffets and special functions.
- Process guest bills accurately and handle payments responsibly.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other front-of-house team members to ensure smooth service.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and beverage pairings.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards of the lodge.
- Anticipate guest needs and provide personalized service to enhance their dining experience.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar waitress/waiter role, preferably in a hotel or lodge setting.
- Excellent verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong customer service orientation and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high standards of hygiene and presentation.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Basic math skills for handling payments and making change.

Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in Hospitality Management or Food & Beverage Service.
- Experience in a luxury hotel or safari lodge environment.
- Knowledge of local languages (e.g., Ndebele, Shona) is an advantage.
