Job Description
Winners Pharmacy is actively seeking a highly motivated, compassionate, and dedicated Full-Time Pharmacist to join our professional healthcare team at our Beau Bassin-Rose Hill branch. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently dispense prescription medications and over-the-counter products in strict accordance with legal, ethical, and professional guidelines.
- Provide comprehensive medication therapy management, including detailed patient counselling on drug interactions, potential side effects, correct dosages, and proper storage methods.
- Conduct thorough medication reviews to identify and proactively resolve drug-related problems, thereby ensuring optimal patient outcomes and adherence.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, and manage pharmacy inventory effectively to ensure the continuous availability of essential medications.
- Supervise, mentor, and train pharmacy support staff, fostering a collaborative, efficient, and positive working environment.
- Adhere strictly to all pharmaceutical laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures, ensuring full and unwavering compliance.
- Respond promptly and professionally to patient and healthcare provider inquiries, offering sound professional advice and effective solutions.
- Participate actively in health promotion activities, public awareness campaigns, and community outreach programs as and when required.
- Monitor drug expiry dates diligently and manage returns or disposals of medications in line with established and environmentally responsible procedures.
- Ensure the pharmacy environment is consistently clean, organised, safe, and welcoming for both staff and customers.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited university or institution.
- Valid Pharmacist license to practice in Mauritius, registered with the appropriate regulatory body.
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable post-licensure experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting.
- Proficient and up-to-date knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, common drug interactions, pharmacology, and prevalent disease states.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and patient counselling skills, with a compassionate approach.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to perform effectively and calmly under pressure.
- Proficiency in using standard pharmacy management software and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Fluency in English and French (both written and spoken) is essential for effective communication with a diverse patient base.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with advanced pharmacy services, such as immunizations, diabetes management, or specialized counselling programs.
- In-depth knowledge of local health regulations and community health initiatives specific to the Plaines Wilhems District.
- Certification in advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) or basic life support (BLS) is a plus.
- Additional language proficiency (e.g., Mauritian Creole, Hindi, Mandarin) to better serve our diverse community.
