Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and welcome guests upon their arrival, escorting them to their tables with a friendly demeanor.
- Present menus, articulate daily specials, and offer informed recommendations on food and beverage selections, demonstrating thorough menu knowledge.
- Accurately take food and drink orders, ensuring all special requests, dietary restrictions, and allergies are clearly communicated to the kitchen and bar staff.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally, adhering to the hotel’s meticulous service standards and presentation guidelines.
- Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their meal, promptly addressing any concerns or requests to ensure a seamless dining experience.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including table setup, condiment replenishment, and general tidiness before, during, and after service.
- Handle cash and electronic payments accurately and efficiently, operating Point of Sale (POS) systems and processing transactions with integrity.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other service personnel to ensure efficient operations and a harmonious work environment.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down dining areas for various events, special functions, or shift changes as required.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for both guests and colleagues at all times.

- Demonstrable knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards and best practices.
- Ability to speak additional local languages (e.g., Ndebele, Shona) is an advantage.
