Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and culturally astute Fundraising Manager to lead our efforts in securing vital resources for our programs, with a special focus on initiatives that support newcomers to Canada and foster global community connections. This unique role is designed for an individual who not only possesses proven fundraising expertise but also deeply understands the nuances of diverse cultural backgrounds and international engagement. As our Fundraising Manager, you will be instrumental in developing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies, identifying new donor prospects among individuals, corporations, and foundations, and cultivating lasting relationships.

Your work will directly contribute to programs that help foreign individuals integrate successfully into Canadian society, access essential services, and build thriving lives. We are looking for someone with an empathetic approach, who can articulate the impact of our work compellingly to a diverse donor base, including those with international ties or an interest in global development. You will leverage your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to craft compelling proposals, organize fundraising events, and manage donor stewardship activities. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with organizational goals, emphasizing support for newcomer programs.
  • Identify, research, and cultivate relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, foundations, and government agencies, both local and international.
  • Prepare compelling grant proposals, sponsorship packages, and funding applications.
  • Plan and execute fundraising events, campaigns, and appeals, targeting diverse communities within Toronto.
  • Manage donor stewardship, ensuring timely acknowledgments, regular updates, and ongoing engagement.
  • Track and report on fundraising progress, donor data, and campaign effectiveness using CRM software.
  • Collaborate with program teams to understand funding needs and communicate impact effectively to donors.
  • Stay informed about fundraising best practices, industry trends, and opportunities relevant to international and newcomer-focused initiatives.
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for fundraising activities as needed.

Required Skills

  • Proven track record in fundraising and donor relations, preferably within a non-profit setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive narratives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity to engage effectively with diverse communities and international stakeholders.
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser's Edge) for donor management.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed fundraising targets.
  • Strategic planning and project management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, International Relations, or a related field.
  • Experience working with newcomer populations or organizations focused on international development/migration.
  • Knowledge of Toronto's philanthropic landscape and community organizations.
  • Fluency in additional languages relevant to Toronto's diverse population.
  • Certification in Fundraising Management (e.g., CFRE).
