As a Garden Nursery Worker, you will be an essential part of our team, contributing to the beauty and health of our diverse plant inventory. Your daily activities will involve a dynamic mix of tasks, ensuring our plants thrive and our nursery remains a welcoming and organized space for customers. You’ll gain hands-on experience in potting, watering, pruning, and maintaining a wide variety of plants, from vibrant annuals to robust perennials and majestic shrubs. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with watering, fertilizing, and pruning plants according to nursery standards.
- Pot and re-pot various plant species, ensuring proper soil conditions and root health.
- Help maintain a clean and organized nursery environment, including sweeping, tidying displays, and organizing tools.
- Assist customers with plant selection, loading purchases, and providing basic care instructions.
- Monitor plants for signs of pests or disease and report findings to senior staff.
- Receive and unload new plant shipments, ensuring proper placement and care upon arrival.
- Operate basic nursery equipment safely and efficiently after receiving training.
- Contribute to creating attractive and informative plant displays.
- Perform general groundskeeping duties to maintain the nursery's aesthetic appeal.
Required Skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
