Royalton White Sands Resort is seeking a dedicated Gardener, Landscape Maintenance professional to join our dynamic and vibrant team in Falmouth, Trelawny Parish. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine garden maintenance tasks including planting, weeding, pruning, watering, fertilizing, and mulching of plants, shrubs, trees, and flowers.
- Maintain lawns through regular mowing, edging, trimming, and aeration.
- Monitor the health of plants and landscapes, identifying and treating pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies.
- Operate and maintain a variety of gardening tools and equipment safely, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools.
- Assist with the design and installation of new landscape features, working with the Head Gardener or Landscaping Manager.
- Ensure all garden areas are kept clean, tidy, and free of debris, maintaining a pristine appearance for guests.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental guidelines, especially regarding the use of chemicals and water conservation.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or significant plant health issues to management promptly.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless maintenance operations across the resort grounds.
- Contribute to creating an exceptional guest experience through the beauty and upkeep of the resort's natural surroundings.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance or gardening, preferably in a commercial or hospitality setting.
- Solid understanding of horticulture, including plant identification, soil types, irrigation, and plant nutrition.
- Ability to operate and maintain various landscaping tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform demanding outdoor tasks in varying weather conditions, including lifting, bending, and kneeling.
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetic quality.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of pest and disease identification and treatment methods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in horticulture, landscape design, or a related field.
- Experience with tropical flora and climate-specific gardening practices.
- Valid Jamaican driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of sustainable landscaping practices and water-saving techniques.
