Key Responsibilities

  • Perform field observations and testing, including soil compaction testing, concrete sampling, and asphalt density testing.
  • Assist with geotechnical investigations, including drilling oversight, soil classification, and in-situ testing.
  • Collect and transport soil, aggregate, and concrete samples from project sites to the laboratory.
  • Prepare samples for laboratory testing and assist with basic laboratory tests such as moisture content and Atterberg limits.
  • Accurately document all field and laboratory data, observations, and test results.
  • Operate and maintain field and laboratory equipment in accordance with company safety standards and best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and construction personnel.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies on job sites and in the laboratory.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or coursework in civil engineering technology, construction management, geology, or a related scientific field.
  • Previous experience with construction materials testing (e.g., ACI, NICET certifications) is a plus but not required.
  • Familiarity with basic surveying techniques or GPS equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort with technical equipment.
