Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Grain Elevator Operator to join our dynamic team in Peoria, Arizona. This full-time role is integral to our agricultural supply chain, ensuring the efficient and secure handling of various grain commodities. As a Grain Elevator Operator, you will be at the heart of our operations, responsible for the safe and precise management of grain from its arrival to its departure.
Your primary duties will encompass the operation of a wide array of grain handling equipment, including legs, conveyors, scales, and dryers. You will meticulously monitor grain levels, temperature, and moisture content within our silos to maintain optimal quality and prevent spoilage. A critical aspect of this role involves performing thorough quality inspections on all incoming and outgoing grain, adhering strictly to industry standards and company specifications. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor grain handling equipment including legs, conveyors, scales, and dryers.
- Perform routine quality inspections on incoming and outgoing grain, checking for moisture, foreign material, and damage.
- Load and unload trucks and railcars efficiently and safely.
- Monitor grain levels, temperature, and condition in storage bins and silos.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and cleaning of equipment and facilities.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations (OSHA, FDA).
- Maintain accurate records of grain movement, inventory, and quality data.
- Assist with general facility upkeep and grounds maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and external partners (truckers, rail operators).
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or quality issues.
Required Skills
- Mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of machinery operation.
- Ability to work effectively in varying weather conditions and environments (dusty, noisy, heights).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate quality checks.
