Job Description
MIDA is seeking a talented and passionate freelance Graphic Designer to collaborate on various exciting and impactful projects aimed at advancing our mission in sustainable development and community empowerment across Migori County, Kenya. We are looking for a highly creative and experienced professional who possesses a strong ability to translate complex development narratives, program achievements, and advocacy messages into compelling visual stories. Key projects may involve, but are not limited to:
* **Designing Visually Striking Annual and Program Reports:** Transforming detailed text and data into engaging, easy-to-understand layouts that highlight our achievements, impact, and future strategies. This includes charts, graphs, and photographic integration.
* **Crafting Engaging Social Media Graphics and Digital Assets:** Developing compelling visuals for various digital platforms to support public health campaigns, educational initiatives, environmental conservation efforts, and community mobilization.
* **Creating Informative Infographics:** Simplifying complex data sets and programmatic information into clear, concise, and visually appealing infographics for various publications and presentations.
* **Developing Compelling Promotional and Advocacy Materials:** Designing brochures, flyers, posters, banners, and other print and digital assets for fundraising appeals, awareness campaigns, and community engagement events.
* **Branding and Identity Support:** Ensuring all visual communications maintain consistency with MIDA’s established brand guidelines, and occasionally assisting in the refinement or development of specific project-level branding elements.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute creative design concepts for MIDA's communication materials, including reports, presentations, infographics, and social media graphics.
- Ensure all visual content aligns with MIDA's brand guidelines and communicates key messages effectively to target audiences.
- Collaborate closely with program and communications teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and delivering high-quality outputs.
- Provide creative input and recommendations to enhance visual storytelling and engagement.
- Prepare design files for both digital and print production, ensuring technical accuracy and readiness.
- Stay updated with current design trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve MIDA's visual communication.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of graphic design work, including layout, typography, and digital graphics
- Excellent understanding of design principles, color theory, and visual hierarchy
