Key Responsibilities
- Planting, transplanting, pruning, watering, and fertilizing various plants, flowers, and vegetables.
- Monitoring plant health, identifying and reporting any signs of pests, diseases, or deficiencies.
- Harvesting crops according to established schedules and quality standards.
- Preparing soil mixes and filling pots/trays for planting.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization within the greenhouse, including sweeping, washing, and sanitizing work areas and equipment.
- Operating basic greenhouse equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., hand tools, carts, watering systems).
- Assisting with packaging and preparing products for shipment.
- Adhering to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Performing other general labour duties as assigned to support greenhouse operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks requiring manual dexterity and physical stamina.
- Capacity to lift and carry up to 25 lbs regularly.
- Comfort working in varying greenhouse temperatures and humidity levels.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic communication skills to interact with team members.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a greenhouse, agricultural, or nursery setting.
- Knowledge of basic plant care techniques and common horticultural practices.
- Ability to identify different plant types and common pests/diseases.
- Experience with operating small farm or garden equipment.
