Job Description
Seprod Group is seeking a dedicated and experienced Grounds Maintenance Technician to join our team in Bog Walk, Saint Catherine Parish. This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the pristine condition and aesthetic appeal of our expansive facility grounds, contributing significantly to our corporate image and operational safety. As a Grounds Maintenance Technician, you will be the cornerstone of our outdoor environment, maintaining lawns, gardens, walkways, and other external areas to the highest standards. Your work directly impacts the daily experience of our employees, visitors, and the overall perception of our brand. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine lawn care activities including mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing.
- Cultivate and maintain garden beds, including planting, weeding, mulching, and fertilizing plants and shrubs.
- Prune trees and shrubs to ensure healthy growth and aesthetic appearance.
- Operate and maintain various landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Monitor and maintain irrigation systems, making minor repairs as needed.
- Remove debris, litter, and other waste from grounds and dispose of it properly.
- Assist with minor facility repairs or maintenance tasks as directed by supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies while performing duties.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or property damage promptly.
- Contribute to pest control efforts for outdoor areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment storage.
- Participate in seasonal clean-up and landscaping projects.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining various landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers).
- Basic knowledge of horticulture, plant care, and pest control.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic communication skills to interact with colleagues and supervisors.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to equipment operation and outdoor work.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in horticulture, landscaping, or a related field.
- Valid Jamaican driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience with irrigation system maintenance.
- Familiarity with local plant species and environmental conditions in Jamaica.
