Job Description

Maliba Mountain Lodge is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Grounds Worker to join our team in Ha Lejone, Leribe. This pivotal role ensures the immaculate presentation of our lodge’s exterior, contributing significantly to the overall guest experience and our reputation for excellence. As a Grounds Worker, you will be responsible for the upkeep and enhancement of all landscaped areas, pathways, gardens, and general outdoor facilities across our expansive property within the Tsehlanyane National Park. This includes a variety of tasks from routine maintenance to special projects, all aimed at preserving the natural beauty that surrounds us.
Your work will directly impact our guests’ first impressions and their overall sense of peace and tranquility during their stay. We are looking for an individual who takes pride in their work, possesses a keen eye for detail, and is prepared for the physical demands of outdoor labor in varying weather conditions. You will operate various landscaping equipment, perform manual tasks, and work collaboratively with other departments to ensure the lodge grounds are always presented to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine landscaping duties including mowing lawns, weeding garden beds, trimming hedges and shrubs, and raking leaves.
- Maintain pathways, driveways, and parking areas, ensuring they are clean, clear, and safe for guests and staff.
- Planting, watering, and fertilizing flowers, trees, and other vegetation to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the lodge grounds.
- Operate and maintain various groundskeeping equipment such as lawnmowers, string trimmers, and leaf blowers.
- Assist with waste management and recycling efforts across the property, ensuring cleanliness and environmental compliance.
- Conduct minor repairs and maintenance on outdoor furniture, fixtures, and irrigation systems.
- Monitor the health of plants and landscapes, identifying and addressing issues like pests or diseases.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and efficiently, adhering to lodge safety protocols and environmental guidelines.
- Contribute to larger landscaping projects and enhancements as directed by management.
Required Skills
- Proven physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous outdoor tasks in varying weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of landscaping techniques, garden maintenance, and plant care.
- Ability to operate groundskeeping equipment safely and effectively.

Preferred Qualifications
