Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet and welcome all guests upon arrival, ensuring a friendly and efficient check-in process.
  • Manage guest reservations, modifications, and cancellations accurately and promptly using property management systems.
  • Provide comprehensive information about the local area, services, and amenities to enhance guest stays.
  • Handle all guest inquiries, requests, and complaints with professionalism, aiming for swift and satisfactory resolutions.
  • Process payments, maintain accurate cash handling procedures, and manage billing inquiries.
  • Assist with luggage handling, taxi arrangements, and other concierge-like services as needed.
  • Maintain a tidy and organised front desk and lobby area, ensuring a welcoming environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with other departments (housekeeping, maintenance) to ensure seamless guest services.
  • Answer phone calls and emails, providing information and assistance in a courteous manner.
  • Promote services and facilities, including special offers, to maximise guest satisfaction and revenue.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a customer service or hospitality role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving capabilities and a proactive approach to guest satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with Property Management Systems (PMS) such as Opera or Protel.
  • Fluency in additional languages beyond English.
  • Knowledge of the local Ottershaw/Chertsey area and attractions.
