Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines (mills, lathes, etc.) according to specifications and production schedules.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and G-code programs to ensure accurate part production.
- Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or deviations, making necessary adjustments to optimize performance.
- Perform quality checks on finished products using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure adherence to tolerance and specifications.
- Load and unload materials and components from machines, ensuring efficient workflow.
- Conduct routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and basic troubleshooting of mechanical issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, strictly adhering to 5S principles and workplace safety regulations.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Document production activities accurately, including completed work, machine settings, and any issues encountered during shifts.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and quality control personnel to resolve production issues and improve processes.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a CNC Machine Operator in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC milling and/or turning machines.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code programs.
- Strong understanding and practical application of precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges).
- Solid knowledge of machining principles, tooling selection, and various materials (e.g., metals, plastics).
- Basic computer literacy for machine interface navigation, data entry, and basic program adjustments.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education or certification in Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or a related skilled trade.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software for program modification or development.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles to optimize production.
- Experience operating multiple types of CNC machinery (e.g., grinders, multi-axis machines).
- Forklift operation certification and experience.
