Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all daily gym operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.
  • Lead, motivate, train, and develop a high-performing team of fitness instructors, personal trainers, and front-of-house staff.
  • Drive membership sales, retention, and manage customer service initiatives, ensuring exceptional member satisfaction.
  • Manage the club's budget, payroll, and inventory control effectively to achieve financial targets.
  • Implement and promote engaging fitness programs, classes, and personal training services that meet diverse member needs.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and operational standards and regulations.
  • Maintain a pristine, functional, and safe gym environment, coordinating maintenance and cleaning schedules.
  • Handle member inquiries, feedback, and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
  • Develop and execute local marketing and community engagement strategies to enhance brand visibility and attract new members.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing training sessions for staff to foster continuous improvement.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 4 years) in gym, health club, or leisure management.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities with a track record of motivating and developing staff.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrable sales and membership retention track record.
  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations pertinent to a fitness environment.
  • Proficiency in gym management software (e.g., Mindbody, Glofox) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management and P&L responsibility.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Level 3 Personal Training qualification or equivalent industry certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with community outreach and local marketing initiatives.
  • Knowledge of current fitness trends and innovative programming.
  • Previous experience living on-site or in employer-provided accommodation.
