Job Description
Freda Rebecca Gold Mine is seeking an accomplished and visionary Head of Operations Excellence to lead our continuous improvement initiatives and drive operational efficiency across all facets of our mining operations. This pivotal role is designed for a strategic leader who possesses a deep understanding of lean principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and change management within heavy industrial or mining environments. The Head of Operations Excellence will be instrumental in fostering a culture of continuous improvement, identifying and implementing best practices, streamlining processes, and optimizing resource utilization to achieve unparalleled levels of productivity, safety, and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and lead the operational excellence strategy across all mining and processing operations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other relevant methodologies to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve safety.
- Identify process bottlenecks, waste, and inefficiencies, and develop data-driven solutions for optimization.
- Lead and facilitate cross-functional projects, ensuring timely and effective execution of improvement plans.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by coaching, mentoring, and training employees at all levels on operational excellence principles.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor progress and measure the impact of improvement initiatives.
- Ensure alignment of operational excellence activities with overall business goals and strategic objectives.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of operational processes to ensure compliance with best practices and company standards.
- Champion change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of new processes and systems.
- Report on the status of operational excellence initiatives to senior management, highlighting achievements and areas for further development.
- Ensure all operational excellence initiatives comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a senior operational excellence or continuous improvement role within a heavy industrial or mining sector.
- Expertise in Lean methodologies, Six Sigma, and other process improvement tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
