Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a passionate and dedicated Full-Time Health Educator to join our growing team in Walsh Acres, Regina. This pivotal role involves designing, implementing, and evaluating health education programs and initiatives aimed at improving community well-being. As a Health Educator, you will be at the forefront of preventive health, empowering individuals and groups through evidence-based information, skill-building workshops, and supportive resources across diverse populations. You will address various health topics, from chronic disease prevention and healthy lifestyle choices to mental wellness. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, deliver, and evaluate health education programs and workshops for diverse community groups.
  • Assess community health needs and priorities to inform the design of relevant and impactful initiatives.
  • Create, review, and disseminate accurate, culturally appropriate health education materials, including digital content.
  • Collaborate with community organizations, healthcare providers, and local agencies to expand program reach.
  • Facilitate interactive sessions on various health topics such as nutrition, physical activity, mental health, and chronic disease management.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of health education programs through data collection and reporting, recommending improvements.
  • Act as a resource person for health information, guiding individuals to appropriate services and support.
  • Advocate for public health policies and initiatives that promote overall community well-being.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health education trends, research, and best practices.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong ability to translate complex health information into clear, accessible language for various audiences.
  • Proven experience in program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Proficiency in developing engaging educational materials across various media formats.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse populations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) designation.
  • Experience working within the Regina or Saskatchewan community health sector.
  • Fluency in additional languages relevant to the local population.
  • Familiarity with public health frameworks and health promotion theories.
  • Experience with grant writing or fundraising for health initiatives.
