Job Description

Career.zycto is actively seeking dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistants for an immediate start in Chertsey, Surrey. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist service users with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and hygiene needs, always maintaining dignity and respect.
  • Support individuals with mobility and transfers, using appropriate equipment and techniques.
  • Aid with feeding and hydration, ensuring dietary requirements are met and promoting a positive mealtime experience.
  • Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) accurately, reporting any concerns promptly.
  • Document care provided, observations, and any changes in condition clearly and concisely.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship, engaging service users in meaningful activities.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for service users.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, care plans, and organisational policies.
  • Communicate effectively with service users, their families, and the wider care team.
  • Assist with medication administration under the direct supervision of a qualified nurse (where applicable and trained).

Required Skills

  • Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant or in a similar care role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work compassionately and empathetically.
  • Strong understanding of dignity, respect, and privacy in care.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic IT skills for record-keeping.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Experience with dementia care or palliative care.
  • Manual handling training.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service.
