Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy-duty equipment and vehicles.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
- Execute complex repairs, component replacements, and overhauls on engines, transmissions, axles, braking systems, and more.
- Conduct pre-delivery inspections and prepare new equipment for service.
- Document all maintenance and repair activities accurately in accordance with company procedures.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in the field when necessary, demonstrating adaptability and problem-solving skills.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Order necessary parts and supplies, managing inventory as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic or similar role
- Strong understanding of heavy equipment hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and diesel engines
- Proficiency in using diagnostic software and tools
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, bend, stoop, and work in various weather conditions
- Commitment to safety protocols and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- ASE Heavy Duty Truck certification or equivalent
- Vocational or technical school degree in Heavy Equipment Technology, Diesel Mechanics, or related field
- Experience with specific equipment brands (e.g., Caterpillar, John Deere, Komatsu, Volvo)
- Welding and fabrication skills
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or ability to obtain one
