Key Responsibilities
- Operate Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) safely and efficiently, adhering to all road traffic laws and company policies.
- Conduct pre-departure and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or maintenance requirements promptly.
- Ensure secure loading and unloading of goods, confirming cargo is safely distributed and protected.
- Complete all necessary paperwork, including delivery notes, manifests, and digital tachograph records accurately.
- Maintain high standards of customer service during deliveries and collections, representing Career.zycto professionally.
- Manage time effectively to ensure timely deliveries, considering traffic and route conditions.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations, including manual handling procedures.
- Keep the vehicle clean and tidy, maintaining a professional appearance.
- Adhere to driver hours regulations and working time directives.
Required Skills
- Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) or Class 2 (Category C) Licence
- Valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) card
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable HGV driving experience
- Thorough knowledge of UK road regulations and highway code
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of vehicle safety and maintenance checks
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- ADR (Accord Dangereux Routier) certificate (for dangerous goods)
- Experience with multi-drop deliveries in urban environments
- Knowledge of vehicle tracking and navigation systems
