Job Description

Career.zycto is partnering with a prominent logistics provider in the Thorpe Willoughby, Selby area to find dedicated and professional Class 1 (Category C+E) HGV Drivers to join their growing team. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV) Class 1 (C+E) on local and regional routes.
  • Perform pre-shift vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.
  • Ensure timely collection and delivery of goods to various destinations.
  • Adhere strictly to all tachograph regulations, driver hours, and road traffic laws.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records and complete all necessary paperwork.
  • Communicate effectively with transport managers and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues.
  • Secure loads correctly and ensure goods are transported without damage.
  • Represent the company professionally at all times.

Required Skills

  • Valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Driving Licence.
  • Valid Driver Qualification Card (DQC) / CPC.
  • Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
  • Proven experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver.
  • Excellent understanding of road safety regulations and driver hours.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good geographical knowledge of the Selby and wider North Yorkshire area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clean driving licence (no more than 6 penalty points).
  • Experience with various types of trailers (e.g., curtainsiders, box trailers).
  • Familiarity with modern vehicle tracking and communication systems.
