Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Home-Based FP&A Assistant to join our dynamic finance team, supporting our operations from Harrow, London. This is a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to our financial planning and analysis functions from the comfort and flexibility of your home office. As a Home-Based FP&A Assistant, you will play a crucial role in preparing financial reports, assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes, and providing insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making across the firm and for our clients. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Conduct detailed variance analysis, comparing actual results to budget/forecast and providing explanations for deviations.
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and management accounts.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support various business initiatives and scenario planning.
  • Assist in data collection, validation, and analysis from various financial systems.
  • Prepare presentations and summaries of financial results for senior management and client reviews.
  • Collaborate with different departments to gather necessary financial information and insights.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the enhancement of FP&A tools and methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support as required by the finance team and stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, crucial for remote collaboration.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a home-based environment.
  • Experience with financial reporting systems and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage).
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a finance, accounting, or FP&A role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Familiarity with IFRS and UK GAAP accounting standards.
  • Previous experience working in a professional services firm.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
