Key Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred care, including assistance with personal hygiene (washing, dressing, continence care) with dignity and respect.
  • Support with medication administration following company policy and training.
  • Assist with meal preparation, ensuring dietary requirements are met, and encourage healthy eating.
  • Perform light household duties, ensuring a clean and safe living environment.
  • Provide companionship, engage in meaningful conversations, and accompany service users to appointments or social activities.
  • Monitor and report any changes in a service user's health or well-being to the care coordinator.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines.
  • Promote independence and choice for service users wherever possible.

Required Skills

  • Genuine passion for helping others and a caring, empathetic nature.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends on a rota basis.
  • A respectful and patient approach to individual needs and preferences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a care setting (either professional or personal).
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding adults at risk procedures.
