Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Provide medication reminders and monitor clients' health status, reporting any significant changes to supervising staff.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences, and assist with feeding as needed.
- Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, tidying living areas, and maintaining a clean environment.
- Offer companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in conversation and stimulating activities.
- Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and social outings, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of client care, observations, and incidents.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety protocols, company policies, and professional standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and the care team to ensure coordinated and person-centered care.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a recognized Home Support Worker, Personal Care Assistant, or equivalent program.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a home care, long-term care, or similar healthcare setting (can include volunteer experience).
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal).
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a compassionate approach to client care.
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
