Key Responsibilities
- Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot all network infrastructure components including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Administer and maintain Windows and Linux server environments, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
- Implement, manage, and verify security measures across all systems and network devices to protect organizational data.
- Perform regular system and application patching, upgrades, and vulnerability management.
- Manage virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and ensure efficient resource allocation.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for network configurations, system procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Automate routine tasks using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical network and system incidents.
- Collaborate with development and support teams to resolve issues and optimize infrastructure for application performance.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of new network and server solutions, aligning with business requirements and best practices.
- Monitor system logs, network traffic, and performance metrics to proactively identify and address potential issues.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in administering Windows Server operating systems (2016, 2019, 2022).
- Strong experience with Linux server administration (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat).
- In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs).
- Hands-on experience with network devices from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, or Fortinet.
- Demonstrated ability in managing and configuring firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA).
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V).
- Scripting proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation.
- Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, PRTG).
